Built to Run: A 2-Day Full-Body Strength Plan for Runners
Tired of nagging injuries or hitting a performance plateau?
Many runners deal with nagging injuries, performance plateaus, or burnout—and often, the missing piece is strength training. When your training revolves only around running, you’re reinforcing the same movement patterns over and over, which can lead to muscle imbalances, overuse injuries, and reduced efficiency. Skipping strength work leaves gaps in your foundation, making it harder to stay healthy and make progress. This program was designed to fill that gap—to keep you strong, resilient, and running your best.

What do our runners say?
-
This program was written with the gym setting in mind and uses equipment such as barbells, dumbbells, and trap bar. However, there are modifications provided that only require dumbbells and the “Plyometric” and “Home Workout” bonuses require little to no equipment.
-
While prior strength training experience will be helpful in starting this program, it is not necessary. There is something in this program for everybody, from recreational to elite athletes.

As physical therapists, we always have injuries in the back of our minds. Depending on your injury, severity, and how far out from injury you are, this program may or may not be appropriate. We recommend checking with your medical provider before starting a new program. We are happy to connect to discuss this further.
